dining out in south bay
Does anyone have a recommendation for a spiffy place to eat in San Jose/South Bay that's not sushi or Indian? I'm going out to dinner with my parents after English graduation, and La Fondue is tasty but not very creative, and I'm already doing Manresa with tersa.

I like Menara, and there's that Italian place that people talk about on ECR by Mary. And somebody mentioned that there's a french restaurant.... I can look for a name.

Chellokebabi (sp), ECR/Wolfe. Persian, kebabs, delicious.

La Pastaia, SJ.

The French place in Santana Row (I'm temporarily spazzing on the name. It's a local chain -- there's another in San Mateo.)

Whee! I'm trying to figure out what to wear. I don't want to be too dressy, but I don't think I want to be in jeans either.

Emile's in San Jose is a quality French restaurant.
Menara is that nice Moroccan place, also in San Jose.
Sundance Mine Company in Palo Alto is a pretty good steakhouse.
