the squirrels, they are merry
On the walk from the parking lot, there was a black squirrel. Bounding. Sort of like a cross between an antelope and a rabbit, it was doing these little all-four-legs-off-the-ground hops. Then it caught sight of another squirrel, the ordinary grey kind, and they bounded together for a while, and then had a grand time wrestling amid the roots of the tree. My assumption was that it was mating, except that if so, they seemed remarkably unclear on who should be on top; first the grey one hopped on top of the black, and then the reverse, alternating for some time. In between they just rolled around in a tumbling ball.

Every once in a while, one would make a break for the tree, and be about a foot up the trunk when the other would fling itself off the ground, wrap its forelimbs around their waist, and pull them down for more wrestling. They usually managed to time this in such a way to keep up the illusion that it was a desperate, foiled escape, but every once in a while the squirrel on the ground would be distracted and miss their cue, and the other squirrel would go a couple of inches further up and then look back, disgruntled, until the one on the ground got with the program and leaped.

Maybe they were just playing, or having a turf battle - hamsters and such tussle like that and it doesn't mean they're mating. The squirrels around our apartment are incredibly hyper lately, too. Spring! spring!

Yeah, that. Squirrels seem to spend a great deal of time playing Chase-My-Tail and How-Fast-Can-You-Go-Around-The-Tree and other such games.

Well, there was some definite humping going on, but they may have been adolescent squirrels practicing for the real thing.

Sorry if you don't like random people dropping lines, if not then i won't do it again...
But i just noticed the Church of Elric icons that have been floating around and wanted to find the lj of the person who made them...and was wondering, how did you do it? They're quite lovely. All i can manage are screenshots or manga scans (then slap on some text).

Oh, and i did love the squirrels. I've noticed that they all seem to hopped up on nut-crack or sumthin.

Re: Hello
I started with some doujin scans (from the doujin that inspired the Church of Elric name, punched up the contrast a little, then used clone to clean up any text or impinging objects, then put the logo on. Pretty much the same, but I'm glad you like them! And I'm never bothered by people posting here.

Re: Hello
Thank you for replying! And where did you find the original doujin? I'm still new to alot of this stuff, i just joined the elricest comm. for the fics, i had no idea all this other suff was involved...im still not entirely sure what 'doujin' is! (there're still alot of terms i don't get, but asking would make me look stupid since they're so commonly used) *hangs head in shame*

My roomate and I are starting an FMA fan comic based around the Homonculi and we're going to create a site for it. Someone told us that could be considered doujin. I haven't a clue, really. Oh well, thank you again! Need to upload the rest of my userpics...
