goodbye to the wittiest woman in Texas  
I knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less of a loss. Molly Ivins has died. In these bleak years, I've often thought back to Molly's columns on Texas progressives, people who struggled for civil rights and much more in the face of a hostile populace, as a guideline for why you cannot give into despair no matter how bad things look. Because it is bit by bit you build a better world, not in great and instant transfigurations.
