brunch places in San Jose
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place for Sunday brunch in San Jose? Apart from Hobees?

You should ask Tersa. She has had some experience with brunches, at least in the Mountain View area.

The California Cafe in downtown Los Gatos does an excellent brunch. A little more upscale than Hobees, but yummy and different food and libations.

Original Pancake House, various locations.
Holders Country Inn, ditto
Country Gourmet in Mountain View is very fine; food at S'vale Country Gourmet also very fine, but have not tried them for breakfast.
Southern Kitchen, on Monterey Hwy. Digs not fancy, but food good++.

Well, if you were willing to make a lengthy drive... Theo's, in Soquel. One of the best brunches you're going to find in the greater Bay Area.

Chainwise, I like Stacks a lot.

In San Jose itself, Cup & Saucer, or Tina's Restaurant.

For hotel-style Sunday buffet brunch, the Sofitel in Redwood City is excellent.

Thanks! We ended up picnicking in Monterey, but now at least I have some ideas other than Hobees.
