Went shooting with slin, who was an absolute sweetie and treated. I didn't suck as bad as I thought I would, considering that it's been three years since I practiced. Apart from one horrendous round where I started getting jumpy from anticipating the kick, and even then I managed to stay inside the 7 ring. I really need to switch to .38 ammo to lighten it. The .22 was easier, and I was getting nice clustering, but consistently shooting low. I need to work on that.

Deeply embarrassing moment of the night: I was putting the .357 into its case, and examining the cylinder. I said, out loud, "You really need to be cleaned, pretty baby." I've been talking to cats too much.

I do think they are pretty, though; there's a mechanical grace about them, the solid weight and the smooth way the metal parts move together, the gleam of protective oil on carefully tended surfaces. Ruger makes good weapons.
