It turns out that audiogalaxy is spyware, but it appears to be less horrendously so than some, so I figure I can download what I want, and then purge it. Currently I have Otis Taylor, nsync, and Orbital stacked.

So hey, suggest some stuff I should check out. Alice and KFOG are really wonderful stations, for commercial stations, but they still have very narrow playlists. And the college stations tend to have small, very focused hours instead of broad taste. Plus they hardly ever identify the damn songs. I miss stations like the old WHFS, which tried to mix in the ecclectic but still had an ear for listenability.

You might try local-to-me http://www.kmtt.com/ which still does streaming audio broadcasts. Their whole point is variety, so you'll hear things from Bruce Hornsby to The Clash to The Beatles to David Grey; most of it is stuff I like, so I listen to them a lot.

And I'm still a fan of LaunchCast. Not as cool as they used to be, but now they have Yahoo's lawyers standing over them.

I tried launchcast for a while, but it kept breaking on me. I should try again, see if the newer software helps.

Try KCRW at http://www.kcrw.org especially the Morning Becomes Eclectic and Metropolis programs.

I'll check it out! I hadn't thought about web stations, I thought they had all gotten screwed out of existence by the new royalty rules.
