Quote of the day
From Al:

Reagan's poison remains in the nation's bloodstream. The infection is hard to resist and fun to spread. The poison is manifest in the idea that government's sole virtue lies in its inefficiency, and that representative democracy is only quantitatively and not qualitatively different from totalitarian dictatorship. Reagan didn't initiate it, of course, but he legitimized and spread it. No president before Reagan really publicly shit on the government he was supposed to run, because no one before him had the personal gift for making it sound like populism instead of the irresponsible cop-out it is. And the fecal residue remains throughout our national vitality.
