Laura, getting water. Laura noticing the tap water still tastes like crap. Laura sees the kettle she boiled a few hours earlier on the stove. Cleverly thinks 'hey, maybe boiled water will taste better, all the bromine gone.' Pours water into her mug. Takes a drink, and as she swallows her eyes focus and notice what bears a great resemblance to a drowned daddy longlegs.

Really hoping the tickle in my throat was just water on a dry throat and not a random part.

Hah! Insects are made of chitin, mostly, and chitin is a polysaccharide, not a protein. All I need, more sugar.

I remember this, because I, science girl, was once shown up in dinner table by my sister, when I said it was a protein and she said 'y'know, I think it's a sugar'. And we all said 'no way', and she was right.

Probably, but the memory was wiped clean out of my mind by the sight of little legs floating in the water, waving like seawead.
